ASIA : Vodafone K.K. announced it will release the V402SH by Sharp, which features a built-in analog TV tuner, starting July 24 in the Kanto-Koshin, Kansai, Hokuriku, and Kyushu-Okinawa regions and later in July for other regions.

The V402SH features a 180 degree reversible "Swivel Style" LCD screen that allows customers to watch TV broadcasts even while the handset is closed. TV audio-visuals are more realistic than before with the handset's high-quality 2.2-inch QVGA System LCD and a front-side speaker. In addition, the V402SH comes with an embedded mobile camera that can capture 1.30 effective megapixels, and photos can be taken in digital camera style by reversing the LCD screen to use it as a large viewfinder.

The main features of the V402SH are as follows:

- Built-in analog TV tuner
The V402SH features an analog TV tuner that makes it easy to view TV shows while away from home. Simple operations allow customers to turn the TV on and alternate between vertical and horizontal views with just the touch of a button. In addition, users can enjoy watching TV without worry as the V402SH can confirm received calls or e-mails quickly while it is in TV mode. TV audio-visuals are more realistic than before with the handset’s front-side speaker. To prevent disturbing those nearby, the V402SH comes bundled with a stereo earphone microphone with attached TV antenna. In addition, one can also listen to FM radio broadcasts with the analog TV tuner and retrieve information on song and artist names in real time using the “Now on Air” function.

The V402SH uses a 180 degree reversible Swivel Style LCD screen, making it possible for customers to freely choose a position that suits the situation. Configurations include an open position for when the handset is opened, a self shot position achieved by rotating the LCD 180 degrees with the handset open, and a viewer position made possible by reversing the LCD screen with the handset closed. TV broadcasts can be watched in the viewer position for TV enjoyment in a natural style with the handset closed. In addition, the V402SH’s camera can be operated in the viewer position, making it possible to use the reversed LCD screen as a large viewfinder in a digital camera style. Furthermore, the self shot position is convenient for taking
self-portraits with on-screen confirmation.

The V402SH’s display features a large-size 2.2.-inch QVGA System LCD so customers can enjoy TV visuals on the high-quality screen capable of displaying at a rate of approximately 30 frames per second, making for smooth TV viewing enjoyment.

The V402SH comes with a CCD mobile camera that can capture 1.30 megapixels for still
photos in maximum SXGA (960 x 1280 pixel) resolutions. Other enjoyable camera features
include 21 step/8x*1 digital zoom, burst mode with a maximum 25 shots, lens settings for action
shots, night views and other scenes, and real time lens effects*2 for fun facial decorations like
“fish-eye” and “broken mosaic” that can be confirmed on-screen in real time.
*1: Possible to use 21 step/8x digital zoom in 120 x 160 pixel resolutions.
*2: Possible to use real time lens effects when taking photographs in Sha-mail mode or Wallpaper mode.
