Seven.Five Duo, from COMARCO Wireless Test Solutions, is the industry's first dual calling-module system that is truly dual purpose. The Seven.Five Duo is lightweight, portable and battery powered, making it perfectly suited for evaluating network performance in-building or where pedestrian use is predominant. In addition, the Seven.Five Duo can effortlessly be transitioned for drive testing of cellular networks. Seven.Five Duo crosses all major technologies with a multi-band, multi-technology RF scanner and up to two calling modules. The Seven.Five Duo calling modules are powered by dedicated single-board computers running Windows XP, along with proprietary voice and video Quality of Service (QoS) algorithms and RIM architecture, making this the only product capable of precision measurements from the perspective of the wireless subscriber. As with all members of the Seven.Five family, Duo provides root-cause data for any problems encountered while emulating the wireless subscribers. Launched by COMARCO, Inc. through its Wireless Test Solutions (WTS) group, in partnership with SwissQual AG of Zuchwil, Switzerland, Seven.Five Duo will be used by infrastructure providers and cellular carriers worldwide, speeding network deployment and optimization, as well as benchmarking of the wireless infrastructure. Rich Set of Real-time Monitors Seven.Five Duo offers a rich feature set of real-time monitors for in-field and replay analysis. Real-time moving maps, sophisticated data displays and voice alerts help to easily pinpoint problems. An optional integrated 12-channel GPS (global positioning system) assures that Duo utilizes very precise location information. "The Seven.Five Duo came about as a result of the demand from cellular carriers for a lightweight, portable, dual-phone optimization tool that could be carried into any environment," says Greg Maton, senior vice president of COMARCO. "This became possible when we integrated our unique multi-band, multi-technology RF scanner with single-board Windows XP-based computers, powered them with our high power-density LiOn battery units, and put it all into a portable, ergonomic package that can be taken anywhere. The Duo is the result of the interdisciplinary talents of our extraordinary engineering teams." The heart of the Seven.Five Duo is the Seven.Five Multi-Band, Multi-Technology RF Scanner: the most advanced and accurate scanner for field-test applications. It is capable of lightning-fast scans (over 3000 channels per second) in multiple frequency bands, with multiple technologies, doing DVCC, BSIC and PN decoding simultaneously. The scanner offers spectrum analyzer-type measurements and full baseband decoding for UMTS, GSM 850/900/1800/1900, EDGE, IS-136, CDMA2000 and WCDMA. Designed To Dramatically Improve Engineering Efficiency The combination
of up to two calling modules, a blazing fast scanner, the industry's
only comprehensive suite of QoS algorithms and feature-rich software,
allows engineers to optimize cellular networks in a fraction of the
time it took in the past, without compromising portability. |
