Google have announced that they have updated their "Google Search" application for Android smartphones.

The release of Android Ice Cream Sandwich led to Google releasing a new version of the application, which has now been made available across all Android versions.

The new version includes a number of improvements with first being an overall smoother and faster experience. The user-interface has also been simplified and should now prove even easier to use !

When searching suggestions are now grouped by type making it even easier to find the one you want. Search results are now also country specific, for all those countries with their own internet domain.

One final improvement is one we've been requesting for some time , which is the possibility to clear your history quicker. You can now clear your search history by long pressing on the items.

The new Google Search application is available to download from the Android Market by clicking here. It is supported on all versions of Android starting from Android 2.2.
