ASIA Malaysia: Huawei Technologies commenced its two-day roadshow and seminar for Malaysia telecom operators and valued customers, featuring 3G end-to-end solutions such as softswitches, centralized base stations, HSDPA and IMS solutions. The event was launched by Yang Berhormat Dato'Sri Dr. Lim Keng Yaik, with the company of the China Ambassador in Malaysia, His Excellency Mr. Wang Chungui. In his address, Yang Berhormat Dato' Sri Dr. Lim Keng Yaik highlighted that Malaysia is progressing towards an ICT-centric society where the telecom industry keeps flourishing and leading in Asia Pacific. He added that Malaysia's telecom industry was one of the first few to adopt the new technologies such as 3G and Huawei has always been providing cost-effective solutions to Malaysian clients. "We are proud to note that we have been part of Malaysia's 3G initiation. Huawei has been researching and developing 3G technology and products since 1995. We have had successful commercial deployment of Huawei's WCDMA products and networks in numerous countries which include Sunday in Hong Kong, Etilasat in the United Arab Emirates, Emtel in Mauritius, Telfort in the Netherlands and of course Malaysia's very own Telekom Malaysia. It is a shared pride that Huawei's accomplishments go hand-in-hand with Malaysia's achievements in the arena of communications,"commented Mr. Zhang Sen, Chief Operating Officer of Huawei Technologies (M) Sdn Bhd. Mr. Zhang continued, "Now we have 6,000 senior engineers out of a total of 16,500 research and development (R&D) employees who are dedicated to R&D efforts for wireless systems worldwide. In addition, Huawei is a major participant in more than 60 international standardization organizations and is a sector member of ITU, 3GPP and 3GPP2. We wish to share our extensive experiences with our peers, existing and potential partners, as well as 3G users and enthusiasts in Malaysia through this roadshow." In the areas of 3G data services, Huawei provides many innovative solutions to help mobile operators to gain more revenue and subscribers whilst enhancing their competitive edge in the market. Huawei was the first company in the world to release a R4 compliant softswitch-based MSC in the industry and its mobile softswitch core network has been deployed in over 50 countries, serving more than 40 million subscribers. Huawei's pioneering Distributed NodeB Solution (DNBS) solves the problem of equipment room acquisition and can save up to 30% total operating costs for operators each year. The adoption of technology-based Digital Power Amplifier module for each base-band processing board in New-Generation BTS can significantly cut down the cost of electricity for operators. Mr. Zhang concluded by saying, "In order to ensure continuous improvement and development of its mobile networks, Huawei continues to adhere to its principles of focusing on customers'needs, responding promptly to their requirements, and strengthening R&D capabilities. This roadshow and seminar is what we could give back to our customers and Malaysians in general. We do hope that they will get to know better about Huawei and our capabilities through this roadshow and seminar, and reap the benefits of our experiences so that we can build a better telecommunications landscape in Malaysia." |
