CETECOM Expands 3G RF Test Capacity

26th January, 2005

Europe : Based on more than a decade of experience in mobile communications, CETECOM has compiled a service package for MMS Testing and Certification that covers both the GCF and the PTCRB requirements.

For the execution of conformance tests, CETECOM has put into operation a new state-of-the-art test solution: the Setcom S-CAT 5020 test tool for Application Enabler Testing, in combination with an Agilent 8960 test platform as the corresponding RF unit, enables the performance of all MMS test cases that are currently validated.

In addition to this, CETECOM is also providing interoperability tests according to the GCF and PTCRB requirements. Here, interoperability is tested via field trials executed by a team specialising in different testing activities on existing mobile communications networks.

Furthermore, CETECOM has invested in the expansion of its 3G RF test capacities. Within the next few weeks, an Anritsu ME7873A test platform will be put into operation. This system is capable of performing the 3G RF test cases defined in the 3GPP test specifications, section 5 (transmitter test cases), section 6 (receiver test cases) and section 7 (performance requirements test cases).

Both investments are further steps being taken by CETECOM in the systematic expansion of its service portfolio towards the 3G technologies.
