Europe
: ZTE Corporation, China’s largest listed telecommunications
manufacturer, will unveil two of its leading 3G handsets at next
month’s 3GSM World Congress in Cannes.
Visitors
to the ZTE stand (H1&H2, Hall3) will be the first in the world
to see the Corporation’s F868 and F858 handsets and the first
in Europe to see the F808, the world’s smallest 3G handset.
Also on its world debut will be ZTE’s MF 320 data card.
“ZTE
continues to invest in being at the forefront of mobile technology
and the 3GSM World Congress is the perfect venue to unveil our latest
successes,” said Zhou Linlin, general manager of ZTE’s
handset division.
"We
started research and development on handsets as early as 1998 and
are now able to offer a total wireless solution incorporating all
three standards of handsets: GSM, CDMA and PHS. ZTE will continue
to develop cutting-edge technology and plans to launch handsets
that can support A-GPS, Bluetooth and HSDPA in the near future."
Weighing
only 104grams, the F808 measures 88.5mm x 44.6mm x 22.5mm and features
voice, multimedia messaging and a built-in rotatable 300,000 pixel
camera. It can also provide video phone capability, multimedia play
and high speed data download.
The
F868 and the F858 both support versatile 3G services such as video,
streaming media, MP3, MPEG4 and WAP browsing. The F868 is designed
primarily for business users and features a 1.3 million pixel camera
and a large LCD screen; the F858 is more cost-effective and features
a single LCD screen and a 300k pixel camera. ZTE’s MF 320
data card is designed specifically for business consumers who need
to be able to work on the move. The card enables users to switch
between UMTS and GPRS networks and supports Internet browsing, voice
and SMS communication at the same time.
ZTE
continues to succeed in the mobile technology market: the Corporation’s
handset sales grew from 4.6 million in 2003 to more than 12 million
last year. ZTE also previously achieved the first detachable CDMA
handset in the world and the first Chinese dual-band GSM handset
in China.
