KDDI
3G Subscriber Shift |
|
13th January 2003 |
|
Inset is one of the latest 3G Mobiles from KDDI - the Toshiba A5303H. While the surge in 3G subscribers appears sharp, a breakdown of the data shows an ongoing shift of subscribers from its current second-generation services. KDDI attracted 775,900 3G subscribers in December, bringing its 3G subscriber base to 4.674 million. At the same time, however, the telecom firm suffered a combined loss of 618,900 subscribers to its "cdmaOne" and "PDC" 2G services.
For its "EZweb" mobile internet service, KDDI added a net total of 239,600 subscribers in December, resulting in a total "EZweb" subscriber base of 11.773 million. Some of these cellphone figures may vary due to rounding. -Copyright ©
