Taiwan : With the majority of mobile traffic now generated at home and office, operators are seeking smart, yet economic solutions satisfy growing demands for indoor coverage and fast data transmission from their customers while, at the same time, increasing their own revenues. Coiler introduces a new line of smart residential repeater solutions that can both address operators’ demands in a fast and simple manner and beat femtocells’ deployment cost.
Coiler Corporation, an industry leader in the manufacturing of indoor repeaters, will be introducing the new Atom AT-2200 Residential 3G Repeater at the 2009 Mobile World Congress, held in Barcelona from February 16 to 19 (Booth 2A26).
The deployment of Atom will eliminate expensive site-maintenance costs associated with traditional coverage extension methods for small indoor areas. It also eliminates the need for major network modifications and new rollout strategies required by the deployment of the femtocells. Since the repeater amplifies off-air signal, there is no need for ADSL connection, which makes the technology especially interesting for the countries where ADSL penetration is low or where access to fixed broadband would require an operator to seek a complicated and lengthy commercial solution. The Atom offers a viable coverage solution for the today’s operator needs, with deployment cost and time both significantly lower than femtocell technology.
The Atom provides enhanced network safety for operators and ensures optimal positioning of the repeater at all time through AGC, Isolation Detection and Auto Shutdown functions. The AT-2200 will ensure that operators expand their UMTS networks safely and with confidence.
Created to cover small sized indoor areas, the Atom offers 60dB of gain and UL/DL power of +7dBm. It combines an integrated service antenna as well as additional antenna extension port to enable flexible system extension and a plug and play installation. With its extensive set of features and smart, stylish design, the Atom allows operators to generate increased revenue by extending the coverage and data transmission capabilities of their clients. Atom provides signal at home.
