: Orange is offering live coverage of football matches on your mobile
phone with Orange Live TV, the most interesting behind-the-scenes
reports, the latest results, team profiles, games and lots more on
the 2006 Football World Cup in Munich via the Orange World mobile
internet portal. We get going in May 2006 with exciting previews of
the teams competing for the golden trophy of the world’s biggest
football tournament.
One month before
the start of the showdown, which takes place every four years between
the best national teams in the world, football fans will be able to
see interesting previews of the tournament each week on Orange World.
Favourites, insider tips and of course the Swiss team and their group
opponents will be presented. And of course there will also be lots
of interesting information about individual football superstars.
From the start
of this unique event on the 9th of June 2006, and in addition to the
live broadcasts via Live TV on your mobile phone, you will be able
to follow the latest results and other news on Orange World at any
time. SMS notifications will keep you up to date. With football related
pictures, ringtones and lots more, football fever can be experienced
to the full on your mobile phone.
A lot of the news
on the Football World Cup on Orange World are for free. There are
no additional costs if you access this news on Orange World using
the Express Option (CHF 5.- / month) or the Power Option (CHF 15.-
/ month) and the access to Orange World as a whole is unlimited. The
access to Orange World without any option is charged at CHF 0.15 per
10 KByte.
In order to follow
these matches via Live TV from a mobile phone, a UMTS mobile phone
is required. In addition, image and ringtone downloads as well as
surfing on Orange World for the latest news and updates on the World
Cup will be more enjoyable. Services such as these will be even quicker
and easier via HSDPA (High Speed Downlink Packet Access), the next
step of UMTS and DVB-H (digital TV on mobile phones). Later this year
Orange will launch HSDPA and start a trial with DVB-H.
