Australia : 3 mobile announced an exciting breakthrough for the mobile & Australian film industry. Joining forces with MOVIE EXTRA, 3 mobile will deliver “TOP OF THE TROPS”, featuring the 2005/2006 Sony Tropfest finalist films – to it’s 3G customers.

From today, 3 mobile’s 3G customers will now be able to view each ten-minute ‘TOP OF THE TROPS’ episode – featuring a 2005 Sony Tropfest finalist film – free of charge to their mobile phone. Then, as of 1 March, ‘TOP OF THE TROPS’ – featuring a 2006 Sony Tropfest finalist film – will be made available at a rate of 50 cents per episode.

Sony Tropfest 2006 is the largest short-film festival in the world and takes place on February 26 in The Domain attended by an estimated 100,000 people.

This first-time collaboration between 3 mobile and MOVIE NETWORK CHANNELS – a producer and aggregator of premium content - signals the commencement of further initiatives by the television network to supply programming for broadcast on new media distribution platforms.

• Two episodes of “TOP OF THE TROPS 2006” will be released on 3 mobile each day from the 1 – 9 March
