Korea : Nextreaming announced that its terrestrial DMB (Digital Multimedia
Broadcasting) solution - NexTVTM - has been selected by Pantech Group,
the second highest selling handset manufacturer in Korea, for its
PT-K1800 and PT-L1800 DMB phones.
The new PT-K1800
and the PT-L1800 models from Pantech affiliate, Pantech&Curitel
Communications Inc., are designed to help speed up mobile TV services
in the Korean market, providing for the increasing trend for increased
multimedia services on mobile phones.

Pantech chose
Nextreaming’s NexTVTM based on a range of criteria - e.g. technology
innovation, quality and speed and full-featured multimedia functionality.
Pantech had adopted Nextreaming’s satellite DMB solution earlier,
providing Nextreaming with a strong foothold in both the satellite
and terrestrial DMB solution markets.
The new terrestrial
phones accommodate flexible usage modes with the adoption of Nextreaming’s
NexTVTM. They can perform multi-tasking functions over answering phones
or SMS reception, while watching terrestrial DMB TV. The DMB service
is also available for users in a PC monitor via USB connections.
The NexTVTM supports
various coding technologies - including H.264, BSAC and HE AAC - and
offers TV-OUT and PC-OUT functions. The company’s mobile multimedia
technology also provides excellent recording/playback of video and
MUSICAM, and featuring snapshots and its viewer.
Nextreaming has
addresses the growth of the mobile multimedia phone market with a
leading edge product portfolio supporting a full range of terrestrial
and satellite DMBs, DVB-Hs, media players, MP3 players and media editors
in mobile handsets. The company will level up the features of the
NexTVTM by supporting interactive services, such as BIFS (Binary Format
for Scene), and data broadcasting, such as the MOT (Multimedia Object
Transfer) slide show.
