World’s First 3G Mobile Wireless Skype MobileBridge

Europe : Top Global announced today the World’s first 3G Mobile wireless Skype solution based on the company’s 3G MobileBridge™ platform. Top Global has developed and patented the flexible MobileBridge™ platform which serves as a gateway/router that links Third Generation Cellular (3G) network and WLAN/LAN networks, enabling customer to enjoy the flexibility and convenience of wireless internet in truly mobile and remote environments.

Unlike other Skype devices that must connect with a PC, Top Global’s 3G mobile wireless Skype MobileBridge™ will work anywhere within cellular coverage. It does not limited to a home, office, cafe, or open public WiFi hotspot either. The Skype experience remains the same. Users can now make free domestic and international calls, chat with other Skype users anywhere around the world, and call to non-Skype users and regular phone numbers for a small fee with the SkypeOut feature. With the Top Global solution, headphones or USB phones plugged into a laptop or PC are not required.

Back in year 2004, Top Global first demonstrated SIP based international VoIP call over the 3G MobileBridge™ during the 3GSM Congress in Hong Kong.
