US
: RADVISION announced that its 3G video services platform is a core
component of All New Video's recently announced 3G and IP video
services portfolio. RADVISION's video services platform is a carrier-grade
solution for the development and deployment of revenue generating
video-based services for wireline, wireless, and broadband mobile
service providers.
All
New Video's custom service, which debuted in late December 2004
and is called Video Answerphone, is used today by Orange UK to terminate
and record videomails when one subscriber tries to reach another
subscriber who is unavailable. All New Video has also entered into
a contract with another major European 3G operator to supply Video
Answerphone services, based on the RADVISION-powered network, to
that carrier's 3G customers.
In addition
to using the RADVISION platform as part of its hosted 3G video mail
services to cellular operators, All New Video also uses RADVISION's
video services architecture to offer hosted visual communications
services to wireline business customers for desktop and meeting
room-based video telephony and videoconferencing services over their
broadband IP connections.
"RADVISION
is unique in the telecom industry for offering such a comprehensive
portfolio of solutions to enable interactive video services over
3G and IP," said David Atkins, CEO of All New Video. "The
goal of All New Video is to deliver interactive video services,
both for communications and entertainment, over any broadband connections
- whether wireline, wireless, or mobile. RADVISION's video services
platform provides us with a powerful architecture that will enable
us to not only deploy traditional video services but also quickly
develop new innovative IP and 3G video services and offerings as
the broadband IP and 3G market continues to grow."
"All New
Video is setting itself up to be a pioneer in the new market of
interactive and real-time video services over 3G and IP broadband
networks," said Boaz Raviv, General Manager for RADVISION's
Networking Business Unit. "As customers start using interactive
video more and more, we expect large operators, both 3G and wireline,
to turn to application service providers such as All New Video to
provide these services to both speed a service's time to market
and as a way to reduce capital expenditures."
All New Video's
Video Answerphone Explained
The
application developed for Orange UK provides a Video answer phone
service for both 3G and 2G subscribers. When a 3G subscriber places
a Video call to an Orange subscriber that is either out of 3G coverage
or only has a 2G subscription the call is forwarded to All New Video
network where a short video message is recorded. This message is
then sent directly to the recipient as a video MMS. This solution
is transparent to the user and appears as a solution resident on
the carrier's network.
