3G Stress Tester Demo

14th February 2003

UbiNetics debuts world's first 3G network 'stress tester', protocol software, and module solutions at 3GSM

~ global 3G technology company unveils latest multi-mode products at Stand B34 ~

Senior spokespeople at UbiNetics will be available to provide a full briefing on the following announcements:
- The launch of UbiNetics' LG200 Load Generator technology - the world's first 3G network 'stress tester'
- An extension of its established W-CDMA protocol software solutions for handset design to include GSM and GPRS capabilities
- The world debut of UbiNetics' GM404 and 405 GSM/GPRS modules

About the LG200
The LG200 is a testing system that simulates real-world network conditions in a lab environment. UbiNetics has developed the system in response to demand from both infrastructure vendors and network operators as they ready their networks for commercial launch.

The system will enable UbiNetics' customers to test the ability of multi-mode networks (3G/GPRS/GSM) to support large call volumes and phone users' mobility. LG200 can also be used by operators throughout the life of the network, from initial testing, interoperability and regression testing, through to network optimisation.

Multi-mode solutions
Building on its track record for W-CDMA protocol software supply, UbiNetics will also be announcing its ability to supply GSM/GPRS protocol software for handset designs. Working with silicon partners, UbiNetics provides integrated terminal solutions that meet the increasing demand for 3G handsets.

GM404 and 405 GSM/GPRS modules
UbiNetics' GM404 and 405 GSM/GPRS modules will be making their world debut at the stand. Working in conjunction with BSQUARE, the modules will be integrated into its Maui PDA. UbiNetics' GM430 GSM/GPRS module for mobile handsets will also have its first European showing.

"The products on show this year reflect the way the market is moving. Operators are not only interested in identifying where problems exist with next-generation networks and ironing these out, but also investing in mobile technology that can be used in the long-term," said Björn Krylander, CEO of UbiNetics.

Load Generator will be available from Q2 2003 onwards and will feature on UbiNetics' stand (stand B34 in Hall 1) at 3GSM World Congress from February 17-21, 2003 in Cannes, France. If you would like to set up an interview at the stand with a senior UbiNetics spokesperson, please call + 33 (0) 4 92 99 80 01 at the show.
