| 3G LAB Launches Trigenix 2.0 Mobile Interface |
|
11th February 2003 |
|
Shortlisted for the Best Wireless Application Developer award by the GSM Association, 3G LAB is offering 3GSM World Congress delegates the opportunity to install Trigenix 2.0 on Nokia's latest handsets along with a selection of Trig interfaces designed to put a smile, or a "Kiss", on your phone's interface. Trigenix 2.0, will be available for easy download on 3G LAB's stand (Hall 2, Stand E42) or on its boat, the Jacaranda Bleu, moored next to Hall 1. "Mobile carriers
are already moving towards customised, own-branded phones, and providing
personalisation capabilities is going to be absolutely key to driving
uptake of new services," said Ben Wood, Gartner. "The focus
of this year in the mobile industry is going to be on the bottom line,
so operators need to ensure that they give their customers compelling
reasons to upgrade their phones and change their buying habits." "The challenge for operators now is not to create new services, but to connect customers to proven product offerings such as messaging, newsfeeds and gaming," said Steve Ives, CEO, 3G LAB. "Trigenix 2.0 lets them rethink the way they brand and promote services through complete customisation of a mobile phone's interface. From the appearance of simple menu options right up to individual services such as film promotions and dating services, operators can build a direct and personal relationship with their customers through more effective use of the mobile interface." Trigenix 2.0 is made up of three components centred around the use, design and delivery of graphics, sound and animation packages (Trigs), over the air - the Trigplayer, the Trigbuilder and the Trigserver. * The Trigplayer is a high performance compact application residing on the handset and allows Trigs to be installed and updated over the air. Trigplayer enables interaction between the handset's software components (phone, messaging, contacts, calendar etc) and the user interface. Operators can use the Trigplayer to drive revenues by branding the user interface, dynamically promoting services on the screen and providing seamless connection, making it easier for users to buy services. * The Trigbuilder, used to create individual Trigs, enables graphic designers and web developers to easily produce customised mobile interfaces in universally recognised XML using their existing skills. Trigbuilder runs on any Windows-based PC installation alongside standard graphical design packages. * The Trigserver managed by the service provider provisions the UI over the air and also delivers service promotions in a secure method to the subscriber base. For example, with Trigserver operators can push special promotions to the games application, allowing customers to follow a simple embedded link to the operator service to purchase the game. |
