3G Video Short Codes for 3

Europe : 3, the UK's first video mobile network, today announces the launch of a range of Video Short Codes which enables customers to access 3's wide range of video content by simply dialling a "Short Code" that streams video to the handset in seconds.

The new service further enhances 3's leading range of video mobile services, by offering customers an alternative to 'Today on 3'. With Short Codes, 3's customers can access their chosen clip within seconds by using a "quick dial" Short Code (usually five digits), instead of retrieving video clips through the portal, making the customer experience simpler and faster.

The launch of the Video Short Code is a world first and has been achieved in conjunction with MX Telecom, the wireless solutions provider. MX Telecom acts as a gateway for content and service providers. From the launch of the service, customers can access a range of 3's video content including comedy clips, news bulletins, weather reports and extracts from key events or programmes.

3 currently offers a range of its content via Short Codes and has plans to introduce a range of 3-approved content from third-parties such as clips from well-known soap operas, competitions and TV out-takes.
