New 3G Video Solution for 3G mobile Operators

1st December, 2004

Europe : T-Systems’ carriers’ carrier division, International Carrier Sales and Solutions (ICSS) announces the launch of its 3G video telephony solution for 3G mobile operators. Inset is Amir Mohammadi, who heads up the 3G development team at T-Systems.

This supports one of the first 3G applications that 3G operators are expected to offer end users. With this solution, mobile operators connected to T-Systems’ platform can offer high-quality international video telephony services to their end users, without having to invest in an international network.

“Using our flexible solution, mobile operators will be able offer international video telephony services to their end users, by terminating video calls over T-Systems’ international network,” explains Stephan Schroder, Executive Vice President Voice Solutions, T-Systems, ICSS. “We are working closely with mobile operators in the 3G space, developing innovative applications which will meet end-users’ expectations with more and more operators rolling out 3G offerings.” T-Systems’ 3G video telephony solution will be used by T-Mobile in Germany, Austria and the UK.

The video telephony solution meets the guidelines outlined by the GSM Association in ‘Video Calling Requirements’. High quality of service is ensured via quality committed partners, supported by 24-hour monitoring. T-Systems can adjust network capacity for each mobile operator as user demand increases.

The solution is part of ICSS’ extensive portfolio of products for mobile operators, providing a one stop shop for international traffic and solutions to meet end users’ needs. The solutions allow mobile operators to focus on sales and marketing efforts to meet their customers’ needs. ICSS’ portfolio for mobile operators includes the recently launched MMS Exchange solution, GRX and Signalling for International Roaming.
