ASIA Hong Kong : NMS Communications announced that partner, Golden Dynamic, one of Asia's leading providers of mobile entertainment applications and content management platforms, has recently won two prestigious awards for its VOIR portal, a 3G video application built on NMS's Vision Voice XML server. Golden Dynamic was awarded the Merit Prize at the 6th annual APICTA (Asia Pacific Information and Communication Technology Awards) ceremony. APICTA is an international programme initiated by the non-profit Multimedia Development Corporation to stimulate innovation, provide product benchmarking opportunities, facilitate technology transfer and increase information and communication technology awareness in the region.

The NMS-based VOIR portal also received the Gold award in the Mobile Infotainment category from the Hong Kong Information and Communications Technology (ICT) Awards 2006 organised by the Wireless Technology Industry Association and supported by the local government. Judges honoured Golden Dynamic specifically for developing an application which simulates the conventional TV user interface for instant channel selection and content switching on 3G mobile phones, along with a comprehensive management system for content management, subscription and billing.

"NMS Communications has extensive credentials in providing 3G/324M video technology, embodied in its Vision VoiceXML server. NMS technology provides the scalability, ease of use and low latency necessary for video playback, allowing the VOIR portal to stay in the lead in the fiercely competitive mobile video market," said Wilson Lo, executive director, Golden Dynamic.

"These two awards are an acknowledgement of the value of Golden Dynamic's mobile video application for one of the most important, fastest-growing segments of mobile communications, in the region and around the world," said Critz Chan, vice president and general manager, Asia, NMS Communications. "We're pleased that NMS' Vision Voice XML server contributes to Golden Dynamic's success and look forward to a continuing fruitful partnership."

Golden Dynamic's VOIR Portal is a 3G service platform that allows mobile operators to increase average revenue per user (ARPU) among users, create customer loyalty and offer distinct brand differentiation through truly interactive content. VOIR provides a standard platform that offers a simple user interface requiring minimal "clicks" to access video content, a complete revolution from the traditional experience of browsing through WAP menus on mobile phones. VOIR can be customised to meet the different needs of telecom operators or content owners.
NMS Communications Vision VoiceXML server is the ideal foundation for building self- service voice and video applications and deploying them into diverse networks, such as 3G next generation networks.

To see a demonstration of the NMS-based VOIR portal and mobile TV application along with other NMS applications and solutions at ITU Telecom World Hong Kong, visit the NMS booth #11085.
