Sharp Licence Picsel File Viewer for 3G Phone

Europe UK : Picsel Technologies announced Sharp has licensed Picsel Viewer™ for NTT DoCoMo's FOMA SH902i ( above ), one of the most advanced 3G/FOMA smart phones available in Japan. Building on the success of the FOMA SH90X series, Picsel File Viewer will bring meaningful content to mobile users encouraging greater use of the network, by enabling intuitive content interaction to a broad range of document types. Picsel File Viewer is part of Picsel's complete content platform, which allows a compelling user experience with any kind of content.

This is the latest license that makes Picsel the standard file viewing application for NTT DoCoMo's FOMA SH90X series manufactured by Sharp. Sharp has previously licensed Picsel File Viewer for other mobile devices, including FOMA SH900i, SH506iC, FOMA SH901iC and FOMA SH901iS.

Picsel File Viewer allows mobile users to easily view PC documents such as Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint files on their phones. With the FOMA SH902i, the ease of viewing PC documents is improved in comparison to predecessors: now PC documents of up to 500k in size can be downloaded from the Internet and miniSD card. Mobile users can open PC documents without quitting the browser by using Picsel File Viewer as a multi-assistant application. Users can examine PC documents in a comfortable, seamless environment, taking full advantage of Picsel File Viewer’s superfast zooming and panning functions.

Picsel File Viewer for the new handset supports Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint), Plain Text and image formats, all through a user interface, which actively encourages the user to download and interact with more content on mobile devices. Other variations of the software include support for seamless interaction between browsing, video or proprietary content types.
