| i-mode Wireless Games for WIND |
16th December , 2003 |
Macrospace's games channel is already available to i-mode users on the WIND network in Italy, and will be rolled out across all European i-mode networks by the end of the year. Macrospace is amongst the first wave of European companies launching dedicated games channels on i-mode, and demonstrates Macrospace's unique ability to deploy games services globally across any technology platform. Subscribers to the Macrospace games channel pay a small monthly fee in return for unlimited downloads of featured games and other content, with new games added every month. Macrospace's i-mode channel includes a number of its bestselling mobile games including Dragon Island, which has sold almost half a million copies to date. Macrospace is also one of the first publishers of mobile games to push connected features such as online highscores and multiplayer gaming across different networks and devices. i-mode users will be able to post their best scores to online score tables, and see how they compare with gamers around the world. "The Macrospace games channel is great news for Macrospace customers and mobile gamers alike. Not only does this show Macrospace's dynamism in adapting to new technologies and distribution models, but it also gives a whole new group of mobile gamers access to Macrospace's brilliant mobile games," said Kristian Segerstråle, Head of Products and Services at Macrospace. i-mode was originally developed and launched by NTT DoCoMo in Japan. To date there are over 40 million i-mode subscribers worldwide, with over 3000 companies offering products, services and content via i-mode. |
