| World's Frist Removable 3G CDMA Modules |
8th December , 2003 |
Inset is Victor Mims, who is CEO of X-Cell Technologies quoted below. The removable module will support the latest 2.5G and 3G CDMA and GSM technologies. What this means is that, for the first time, wireless device users will be able to take the wireless module, which is the brain, from a cellular phone, and place it in a PDA or Computer giving all products cellular capability. The module which measures 59 mm x 33mm x 5.40 mm, has a robust, durable protective case and an X-Cell custom RF connector allowing the module to be placed in an out of multiple wireless devices. X-Cell modules will have all the latest functionality that manufacturers and Cellular Operators have come to expect in 3G wireless devices such as the capability to support downloadable ring tones, cameras, data, GPRS, gpsOne and color displays. In light of the recent turn of events in the wireless communication market- the new ability for consumers to transfer their personal phone numbers when they change wireless providers-a removable wireless module is the right product for manufactures and cellular operators giving them the opportunity to participate in multiple vertical markets with one product. “We feel this is a great stride in the right direction for the wireless world. This will give manufactures the ability to build host devices around our removable modules, and give the cellular operators the ability to make a profit on the initial wireless module sale,” said Victor Mims, who is CEO of X-Cell Technologies. X-Cell is positioned to offer its innovative products to a consumer market that is demanding creative and custom ways to use technology. “The consumer demand that led to the wireless companies changing the rules to let their customers keep their phones numbers is an extremely positive sign that technologies like the ones that X-Cell produces are in demand,” said Mims.
