Europe : Tektronix announced the launch of its new Network Diagnostics Academy. The Academy will include a series of knowledgeware products and services including expert books, in-person seminars and online Webinars covering a variety of standards and topics. Today's release of "UMTS UTRAN Signaling" is the first knowledgeware product available from the Academy.

Third-generation (3G) networks utilize more interfaces and protocols than ever before, and the amount of data to analyze is significantly higher than that of second-generation (2G) networks. Technicians no longer have the time or the resources to keep up with every trouble mode that occurs in their mobile network. About the Book

"UMTS UTRAN Signaling" provides insight into UMTS signaling on the wireline interface. It is comprised of two sections. The first section is an overview of UMTS, including detail on the technical standards, network architecture, objectives and functions of different interfaces and various protocols of the UTRAN.
