Europe : Scalado AB and Open Bit Oy, both specializing in digital imaging for the mobile industry, enters a strategic alliance, to increase their combined mobile imaging offerings.

Scalado and Open Bit will jointly work on developing and marketing customer specific imaging projects and cross license each others technologies and products. Additionally they will develop and market imaging applications and technologies for both embedded usage and for open platforms. Both companies are Symbian Platinum Partners and are committed to the increasing smart phone market lead by Symbian and associated GUI such as series60 and UIQ.

Scalado and Open Bit will develop a combined product road map with future camera phones, primarily based on Symbian OS.

Open Bit Oy Ltd., based out of Tampere Finland, is mostly known as the creator of the award winning camera is one of the mostÔ. PhotographerÔphone enhancement application Photographer widely spread application for Nokia Series 60 based devices. Open Bit has several other consumer applications as well as a new license manager technology.

Scalado has developed innovative imaging technologies and IPRs both for the Internet and the mobile imaging market. The main product from Scalado is CAPS (Camera phone Application Platform/Suite), a technology platform that includes a complete mobile imaging suite of application for Symbian OS enabled mobile phones. Scalado also provides the imaging products PhotoFusion and PhotoServe.
