Samsung announced the Samsung Galaxy R last month and it has already launched in a select number of countries, including Sweden.At the time we were unsure whether it will launch in the UK, but now we know it will.
The Samsung Galaxy R is a cheaper alternative to the Samsung Galaxy S2 that packs a real punch. It comes with a Nvidia Tegra 2 processor , as well as Nvidia GEFORCE GPU, which in theory makes it even more powerful than the Galaxy S2.
The collaboration with Nvidia means the smartphone features the latest in mobile gaming technology and you'll be able to download games from the Tegra Zone. Other features include a 5 mega-pixel camera , front-facing 1.3 mega-pixel camera , 8GB of onboard memory and it runs on Android 2.3.
However, one downside is that the lower-price has meant that the Galaxy R has a 4.1 inch Super LCD touch-screen rather than the Super AMOLED featured on the S2. The Galaxy R is also slightly larger and weights 15g more than the Galaxy S2, but if its cheaper we don't mind especially considering the power it has.
We don't have an exact release date but considering its already available in other countries it can't be too long. Once we hear any more information such as a price, we'll let you know.
