Smartphones To Appear On Tesco's Shelves

UK : Tesco have confirmed they will begin to stock smartphones.
Tesco hope this move will increase their phone sales and additionally ensure more customers join their Tesco Mobile network.
Tesco are in talks with manufacturers to have eight handsets in store by the end of 2009.
The first two smartphones that will be stocked by Tesco are the Alcatel Tribe OT-800 (pictured above) and the LG GW-300. Both are budget handsets available on Tesco Mobile pre-paid tariffs. Tesco is giving customers further incentives to purchase by offering three months free internet with the new smartphones.
The Alcatel Tribe costs £50 and will be available in pink and black exclusively on Tesco Mobile.
The LG GW-300 comes pre-loaded with facebook and also features a 2.4” 240×320 QVGA display, Bluetooth, QWERTY keyboard and a 2MP camera.
