Nokia N900 Becomes Official

Europe : Nokia have announced the Nokia N900, which is the next evolution in its Meamo software. The Nokia N900 is a Linux based handset and aims to deliver PC functionality on your mobile.
The Nokia N900 uses the latest Internet Tablet technology enabling users to browse the internet like they would on their PC.
The Nokia N900 runs on the latest Maemo 5 software, enabling multiple application windows to be running simultaneously.
The Nokia N900 is powered by an ARM Coretex-A8 processor with 1GB of application memory and OPENGL ES 2.0 graphics capability. It’s this power that enables the application multi-tasking now possible on the Nokia N900.
The N900 homescreen can be customized with your desired shortcuts, applications and widgets to ensure fast and easy use. Additionally, the device features touch screen capability as well as a QWERTY keyboard.
Web browsing on the Nokia N900 will be a joy, with the high-resolution WVGA touch screen and HSPA and WLAN internet connectivity ensuring the best possible browsing experience. The browser itself is developed by Mozilla, makers of the hugely successful Firefox browser, and ensures your sites look exactly the same as on your PC.
The QWERTY keyboard means the N900 is perfect for writing emails and sending text messages at rapid speed. The Nokia N900 has 32GB of storage, which can be increased to 48GB with a microSD card and the device also comes with a splendid Carl Zeiss 5MP Camera.
The Nokia N900 will be available to buy from October 2009 at a price of around 500 Euros.
