US : Motorola mobile phones will soon be able to offer downloadable movies from Blockbuster. The Blockbuster OnDemand movie service will be available via a number of Motorola mobile phones.
This is a breakthrough for Blockbuster as it is the first time a mobile phone manufacturer has taken the movie download option from Blockbuster.
A number of Motorola mobile phones will come per-loaded with a Blockbuster software application which will offer the whole Blockbuster library of current movies, thousands of movies which can be downloaded direct to your mobile phone.
"Mobile video entertainment is exploding, as consumers are demanding the widest selection of content: the movies they love in their living room and on their PC, now also available on their mobile phone, while on the go," said Christy Wyatt, Vice President of Software Platforms, Applications and Ecosystem, Motorola Mobile Devices. "Together with Blockbuster we intend to deliver an unparalleled portable movie experience on our next-generation handsets."
