: Actix, the global provider of wireless network performance engineering
solutions, today announced that it has formed a distribution partnership
with Russian-based RayCom WirelessTM. RayCom Wireless, specialist
supplier of wireless networks infrastructure equipment and wireless
systems integration and installation services , will supply the Russian
wireless telecommunications market with all of Actix’ 2G, 2.5G
and 3G network planning, rollout, troubleshooting, and optimization
solutions. RayCom Wireless will also provide consulting services based
on Actix’ solutions.
Actix’
wireless performance engineering solutions are entirely vendor independent
and enable operators to analyze raw wireless network data from a mix
of network technologies, systems and data collection solutions in
fine detail. This gives an end-to-end picture of vital wireless functions
and the quality of service delivery from the subscriber’s perspective;
it also enables engineers to ‘drill down’ to the root
cause of any deficiencies. Some of the operators using Actix’
3G solutions include: SKT Korea, FET Taiwan, Orange France, 3GIS,
Hutchison 3G, Swisscom, Mobilkom, Vodafone UK, Vodafone Ireland, US
Cellular, Verizon Wireless, Bell Mobility, Sprint PCS, and Qwest Wireless.
Alex
Zinov, CTO, Raycom Wireless said, “For RayCom Wireless, the
reasons for distributing Actix’ technology are clear. Our main
clients are key Russian mobile operators including Mobile TeleSystems,
VimpelCom, Megafon, Tele2 and Skylink. There is also a significant
number of operators from other CIS countries including Belarus, Kyrgyzstan,
Tajikistan, Ukraine, and Uzbekistan. All these operators face demands
to get more revenue from their 2G and 2.5G networks and also generate
new revenues from future 3G services. They must overcome such challenges
as the growing complexity of wireless networks and on-going wireless/IP
convergence.
Actix’
solutions enable operators to verify new technologies and optimize
network performance regardless of the mix of the infrastructure equipment
used. We are extremely confident that Actix’ vendor independent
solutions can bring Russian operators real benefits in a highly competitive
environment.”
Jim Hobby,
Actix’ Regional Sales Director, Eastern Europe, said, “The
Russian wireless telecoms market is one of the most dynamic in the
world. Although it has grown dramatically in recent years, it is still
a relatively immature market with overall mobile penetration of 27.5%.
With Actix’ vendor independent solutions RayCom can enable operators
to more competitively increase their networks’ coverage, more
effectively install further base stations in the regions, and improve
indoor coverage quality in big cities. Russian operators will now
be able to verify new technologies and optimize their networks’
performance regardless of the mix of the infrastructure equipment
used – a key advantage as they face the challenges associated
with 2.5G and 3G voice/data services.”
