US : WJ Communications, Inc., a leading designer and supplier of RF semiconductors and multi-chip modules, today announced that it has introduced the MH1A, a high dynamic range PCS/UMTS-band MMIC mixer suitable for mobile infrastructure applications. "This introduction illustrates WJ's dedication to the mobile infrastructure market and responds to our customers' demand for improved conversion loss, lower noise figure and improved ESD," said Javed Patel, senior vice president of sales and marketing for WJ Communications. "As with other WJ MMIC mixer solutions, this device is designed with leading-edge performance, excellent quality, high value manufacturability and a rich IP3 of +35 dBM." Product Overview The MH1A is a passive FET mixer that provides high dynamic range performance in a low-cost SOIC-8 package. The GaAs MESFET based MH1A uses patented techniques to realize +35 dBm Input IP3 at an LO drive level of +17 dBm. This device operates over a 1700-2000 MHz RF frequency range and features a low noise figure of 8.5 dB and a low conversion loss of 8.8 dB. This single monolithic integrated circuit does not require any external baluns or bias elements. Typical applications include frequency up/down conversion, modulation and demodulation for receivers and transmitters used in 2.5G and 3G PCS DCS1800, and PHS systems. Price and Availability Fully assembled evaluation boards and loose samples are available now and can be requested directly from the WJ website (www.wj.com). The MH1A is attractively priced at $2.25 in 10,000 piece quantities. About WJ Communications WJ Communications Inc. is a leading RF semiconductor company focusing on the design and manufacture of high-quality devices, chip sets and multi-chip modules (MCMs) for telecommunications, RF identification (RFID) and homeland security systems worldwide. WJ's highly reliable amplifiers, mixers, RF integrated circuits (RFICs), RFID reader modules, chipsets and MCM products are used to transmit, receive and process signals that enable current and next generation wireless and wireline services. |
