Motorola Wins China Unicom 3G Contract

ASIA : Motorola announced that the company has won a commercial W-CDMA contract with China Unicom, a leading telecom operator in China. The contract marks another significant milestone for Motorola in China’s 3G market, demonstrating Motorola’s global strength and commitment to delivering market leading W-CDMA network solutions.

 

Under the contract, Motorola will provide China Unicom with W-CDMA radio access network equipment, packet switched core network (PS core), and 2G/3G interoperability functions that will enable a seamless integration of China Unicom’s GSM and W-CDMA networks.

 

Motorola’s innovative and feature-rich W-CDMA solutions are designed to help operators like China Unicom capitalize on the rapidly growing demands for data and media mobility experiences. The portfolio allows telecom operators to provide high performance data services and a smooth integration of their next generation networks.
