Europe France : Spirent Communications announced the launch of its new Spirent GSS8000 simulation system, a signal generator unit for GPS, Galileo and GLONASS testing. The Spirent GSS8000 tests advanced satellite navigation technologies and offers enhanced capability, increased flexibility and improved signal fidelity.

With the introduction of Spirent GSS8000, Spirent continues to improve the accuracy and dynamic capabilities of its GNSS simulators. This new solution supports processing rates as low as 4 ms with pseudorange accuracy at 1 mm for many scenarios. The Spirent GSS8000 design allows for a wide variety of configurations from GPS L1 right up to comprehensive multi-RF output and/or multi-constellation test systems.

The Spirent GSS8000 raises the bar for GNSS test in terms of capability and accuracy, said John Pottle, marketing director for Spirents Positioning Technology division. It offers class-leading signal accuracy in all areas as well as the flexibility and scalability that our customers are looking for.

Simulation of GPS, Galileo and GLONASS signals is acknowledged as the best way of testing Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) receivers, systems and application performance. Only laboratory simulation can ensure controlled repeatable testing that explores both nominal and off-design conditions. By following a structured test approach, our customers can test multi-GNSS receivers, systems and applications resulting in shorter development times and improved performance.
