US : Discretix and CoreMedia announced the availability a groundbreaking mobile television solution at NAB2007 in Las Vegas. The solution, which incorporates CoreMedia's Mobile TV Platform with Discretix' Multi-Scheme Mobile TV Security Client, is the first ever to offer end-to-end service and content protection according to the OMA BCAST Smartcard Profile. CoreMedia and Discretix will be demonstrating their joint solution during NAB2007 at the RRD exhibit, Booth C7824 in the Las Vegas Convention Center.

The end-to-end CoreMedia/Discretix solution also supports the OMA BCAST DRM Profile and the DVB-H CBMS 18Crypt DRM profile. The solution significantly reduces the cost and complexity of integrating a complete, multi-scheme mobile television delivery solution for mobile device manufacturers and service providers. The high performance, low footprint technology enables a faster time to market for OEMs while ensuring a robust, secure framework for interactive and non-interactive mobile television, music, video and much more.

"Working closely with Discretix, CoreMedia has created a standards-compliant platform that is the most flexible and reliable of its kind. We believe this solution will form the core of a new generation of exciting mobile broadcast services," said Willms Buhse ( inset ), Executive Director, CoreMedia. "Our Mobile TV Platform is unparalleled in its wide range of business model support, flexibility for simple mobile operator and broadcast headend integration and interactivity support-and with the integration of Discretix Multi-Scheme Client, providers and carriers alike receive state-of-the-art content protection as well."

"Discretix Multi-Scheme Mobile TV Security Client provides the flexibility content providers, device manufacturers and carriers need in a rapidly changing distribution environment," said Edo Ganot, Executive Vice President of Sales and Business Development for Discretix. "Our support for all major content and service protection schemes, as well as emerging standards as they become available, makes the joint CoreMedia/Discretix platform the most reliable, adaptable and high performance solution on the market."

The CoreMedia/Discretix solution is compliant with a broad range of industry standard solutions including; OMA BCAST DRM Profile, OMA BCAST Smartcard Profile and DVB-H CBMS 18Crypt. It is also multi-ESG capable, allowing broadcast network operators to customize and launch TV programs, price models and Electronic Service Guides (ESGs) for multiple mobile network brands quickly and cost-effectively.
