US : Streamezzo announced that its Rich Media Software Suite has been certified as interoperable for Mobile TV applications on more than one hundred mobile devices. While competing technologies can only claim support for a select number of newer high-end mobile handsets, Streamezzo’s platform offers universal availability of interactive rich media applications on all major operating systems and the widest selection of device manufacturers and models.
As a spin-off from the R&D labs at France Telecom, Streamezzo’s end-to-end software platform has been designed from the ground up to be light, open and flexible to enable rich media compatibility with the broadest possible range of devices and operating systems. Today, rich media services are available on virtually all mobile operating systems and versions, including: Nukleus, Brew, Windows Mobile 2005, all Symbian platforms, all Mobile Java platforms, Rex and most proprietary operating systems. Mobile TV service, the latest and most demanding application, is available on over 100 devices including all Mobile Java platforms – overshadowing the capabilities of competitive rich media solutions. “In the renewed paradigm of mobile entertainment, quality of user experience is key and rich-media services like mobile TV will become the driver of data ARPU for wireless operators,” said Pierre-Emmanuel Struyven, CMO for Streamezzo. “We understood this early on and have built our platform from the ground up to support rich media services, including mobile TV, on the broadest possible array of networks and devices.” In order to continue expanding its position as the leader in device compatibility, Streamezzo maintains a highly aggressive schedule for new device qualification. The Device Engineering Group currently qualifies between thirty-five and fifty new wireless devices each month. To help ensure compatibility, Streamezzo engineers maintain close partnerships with all major handset manufacturers to proactively collaborate on product design considerations. “With over two billion wireless handsets in circulation and a base of mobile operators around the globe, our most fundamental driver is ubiquitous compatibility with our customers’ embedded base,” said Alain Blancquart, president and CEO of Streamezzo. “Ultimately, what sets us apart from the competition is the ability to empower our customers to quickly and profitability deploy innovative new rich media services that are interoperable with the wireless devices that are in the hands of consumers today.” Streamezzo’s Rich Media Software Suite consists of all the core software components mobile operators need to deploy a robust rich media service offering, including: a rich media authoring workbench, device-side rich media thin client, and a server-side platform for content management, publishing and delivery. The recently announced Streamezzo Karma is a turnkey packaged solution consisting of all software, hardware, pre-built services, customization and professional services needed to further simplify and expedite the delivery of a complete rich media service solution.
