US : IneoQuest Technologies announced its new family of Singulus(TM) Lite "Crickets" -- with 3G and WiFi interfaces -- bringing multi-dimensional monitoring and analysis to the wireless network. Used in conjunction with its newly announced IQPinPoint Platform and the Singulus(TM) Lite "Cricket" enables service providers to reduce operational expenses (OPEX) and improve video quality over wireless networks.

"Wireless is emerging as an important last mile technology for delivering video, and will be a crucial element in many video service providers' go-to-market strategies," said Kermit L. Ross, Principal of Millennium Marketing. "Video is uncharted territory for wireless carriers. They'll need products like Singulus and IQPinPoint to get video done right."

Compact and easy to deploy, IneoQuest's award-winning family of Crickets can be used from the network edge to the premise to monitor and analyze multiple video flows and to automatically alert service providers to pending quality issues in need of remediation. IneoQuest's entrance into wireless allows service providers to monitor, analyze and remotely troubleshoot the entire video network including the wireless last mile.

New wireless Singulus Crickets include interfaces for:

WiFi -- In order to help reduce OPEX, service providers need simple tools that can monitor and troubleshoot video quality during trials and installation as well as offer routine troubleshooting at customer locations. IneoQuest's new WiFi interface enables providers to instantly gain visibility into service quality as IP video streams wirelessly flow throughout customer locations over 802.11 networks.

3G -- IneoQuest's 3G Cricket offers a 3G receiver interface which receives streaming signals to monitor, troubleshoot and test 3G streaming video quality from the base station to any point throughout the network, ensuring that the service provider can guarantee quality video service to the hand set, PC or remote terminal.

IneoQuest also plans to support the 4G wireless broadband service WiMAX as well as the new video broadcast technologies MediaFlo and DVB-H later this year. By supporting these new technologies, IneoQuest will provide service providers with the capability to determine the optimal deployment of their wireless infrastructure as well as providing the means to guarantee video quality delivered over that network. These interfaces will add to IneoQuest's existing IQPinPoint portfolio which includes Ethernet, ASI, ADSL2/2+, VDSL2, HPNA, and QAM interfaces.

"Service providers delivering voice and data services are experiencing unbounded OPEX costs when attempting to stream IP video over the same infrastructure," said Marc Todd, President and CEO of IneoQuest. "The burgeoning costs are exacerbated by the need for service assurance solutions for the multiple last mile technologies becoming available. With the addition of 3G and WiFi Crickets, IneoQuest is simplifying the service providers' ability to control OPEX no matter what last mile technology they are deploying."

Pricing and availability:

The Singulus Lite is a bundled solution comprising a Cricket with MediaAnalyzerPro and TSXPro software, for complete troubleshooting with IP Video and MPEG analysis. The standard Singulus Lite platform is orderable today with 4 to 6 week lead times and priced starting at $2995 in single quantities.
