2nd April , 2007
ASIA : M1 will mark its 10th year of operations in Singapore with an array of attractive handset and service benefits that will be offered to customers from tomorrow.  At the top of the list are 10,000 free 3G phones which will be given to those who upgrade or sign up for new mobile lines.

The limited edition Samsung SGH-Z240 which normally retails for $398 will be offered free while stocks last, subject to a 2-year handset contract and the usual terms and conditions.

Customers who sign up for certain value added services (VAS) such as Roaming and Bye Bye Ring Ring between 31 March and 20 July 2007 will also stand to win tickets to celebrity concerts around the world with airfares and accommodation provided. They can catch Elton John performing in London, Kaiser Chiefs in Japan, Jackie Cheung in Hong Kong and many more.

First-time subscribers to selected VAS services such as 3G Entertainment Buffet and MMS Saver will enjoy great savings as they just have to pay a flat fee of only $10.50 to subscribe up to seven months of the service of their choice.

In addition, handset vouchers worth up to $200 will be given to customers who sign up for both new M1 Broadband connection and mobile line.

There is something for prepaid customers too. Every 10th M Card customer who does a top-up between 1 April and 15 April will be given $10 worth of free airtime.

And M1 customers who are theatre aficionados will be able to buy discounted tickets to A Midsummer Night’s Dream to be staged by the Singapore Repertory Theatre from 4 May. M1 is the presenting sponsor of this spectacular at the Fort Canning Park and M1 customers who show their M1 bills when purchasing tickets will enjoy a 15% discount until 7 April and 10% thereafter.

“We are celebrating a meaningful and significant milestone and we are truly grateful to our customers for making it possible with their strong and wonderful support all these years. From a zero customer base to more than a million mobile customers today, it has been 10 good years of solid growth for M1. We have built up a brand that is known and appreciated for its innovative edge and service quality and that puts the customer first by providing great value and customer care. That is the nature and level of service that our customers have grown to expect from M1 and with their continuing support, we look forward to many more good years of service to our customers,” said Neil Montefiore, M1’s Chief Executive Officer.

M1, Singapore's most exciting and innovative mobile and IDD service provider, was launched in April 1997. Since then, it has made significant inroads into the local mobile communications market, gaining considerable brand presence and market share. M1 aims to be the leader in personal voice, business and data communications, focusing on value, quality and customer service.
