Hutchison 3G selects Ascential Software for CRM data integration
30th April, 2002

Hutchison 3G UK ("Hutchison 3G") has selected Ascential Software's DataStage XET to provide a more concise view of its customer behaviour and needs. The product will be deployed first in the UK and made available in other countries where Hutchison Whampoa has 3G interests.
Under the agreement, Hutchison 3G will use DataStage XET with Parallel Extender, Ascential's flagship product, for integrating data across the company in two key areas.

Firstly, it will be used to develop a framework to collect and consolidate all customer information from a variety of sources. Secondly, DataStage XET with Parallel Extender will facilitate the consolidation and integration of data from multiple operational systems across the Enterprise
Colin Tucker, managing director of Hutchison 3G, said: "We selected Ascential Software as it was the only vendor that could provide comprehensive solutions to our enterprise data integration requirements on a worldwide basis, including software, services and support. As a company we want to be able to respond quickly and effectively to our customers' needs and the agreement with Ascential builds on our ability to do that."

Peter Fiore, president of Ascential Software said: "Our work with other companies in the media and telecoms sectors, means we have a good understanding of the challenges Hutchison 3G faces. 3G is a new sector, which is currently building the necessary infrastructure and putting the technologies in place. We believe that Hutchison 3G is one of the key players in this market and only those who are able to quickly respond to market demands and customer needs will succeed."
