3G centre in ASIA

Alcatel has announced that it will establish a 3G Reality Center in Kuala Lumpur in the second half of this year.
The new center will be Alcatel's headquarters in Southeast Asia, said Alcatel Asia Pacific's director of business development (mobile unit) John Lipp. "The 3G center will build a bridge between content community and mobile operators," he said.
Alcatel has similar centers in Shanghai, Japan and Taiwan. "We have plans to build a few more centers in the Asian region," Lipp added.
The firm will also seek Malaysian partners to develop middleware for its third-generation mobile phones.
