The Google Pixel Fold is Google’s first foldable phone and it’s the slimmest foldable phone you can buy, which is a major perk, as most foldables are quite chunky.
That, along with a far less narrow cover screen than the likes of the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4 have, makes this look and operate more like a normal smartphone when folded shut than other foldables – but then you can still unfold it for a tablet-sized display.
That display is a 7.6-inch 1840 x 2208 OLED one with a 120Hz refresh rate, so it’s a high-end screen, and so is the 5.8-inch 1080 x 2092 OLED cover display, as that also has a 120Hz refresh rate.
Google also boasts that this has the most durable hinge on a foldable, so it’s built to last – especially as it’s also water resistant.
Better yet, Google claims that the Pixel Fold has the best cameras on a foldable phone, which is more debatable but certainly believable, as its 48MP main camera, 10.8MP ultra-wide, and 10.8MP telephoto (with 5x optical zoom) are capable of taking exceptional photos. You also get a 9.5MP camera on the cover screen and an 8MP one on the foldable display, so there’s no shortage of snappers.
The Google Pixel Fold additionally has a Tensor G2 chipset, just like the powerful Pixel 7 Pro, and its 4,821mAh battery can last a full 24 hours – or up to 72 hours if you enable Extreme Battery Saver mode.
Plus, you get Google’s slick, intuitive, and all-round excellent software here, and it’s been tailored to make the most of the foldable form factor, with things like a handy split screen mode. This being a Pixel phone, you should also get speedy updates to new Android versions until years after the phone’s launch.
