The iPhone 15 Pro is a small yet mighty phone, with a compact 6.1-inch screen that makes it an easy fit for any pocket.
That display is an 1179 x 2556 OLED one with a 1-120Hz variable refresh rate and a peak brightness of 2,000 nits, all of which is to say that it’s one of the best smartphone screens around, and additionally helped by the presence of a clever Dynamic Island, that can display timers and other relevant information regardless of what else you’re doing on the phone.
There have been some major upgrades here from the iPhone 14 Pro as well, as the iPhone 15 Pro has an extremely powerful new A17 Pro chipset, which among other things promises up to four times faster ray tracing than the A16 Bionic in its predecessor, and is likely the most powerful chipset you can get in a smartphone.
The iPhone 15 Pro also has an Action button on the side, which is a new addition and replaces the mute switch of old. This is a customisable button, so you can set it to trigger a function of your choice, from a wide selection of options.
And then there’s the iPhone 15 Pro’s USB-C port, which is here in place of the Lightning port found on previous iPhones. This is a far more universal charging standard, so you can use the same cable here as for most other devices. Plus, Apple has also upped the data transfer speeds to a whopping 10Gbps.
The iPhone 15 Pro is also luxuriously built, with a new titanium frame that’s lighter, tougher, and more premium than the stainless steel of its predecessor.
Plus, the iPhone 15 Pro has an excellent triple-lens camera system, with a 48MP main snapper, a 12 MP ultra-wide, and a 12MP telephoto (offering 3x optical zoom). The phone also has a long-lasting battery which can keep going for up to 23 hours of video playback, and there’s up to 1TB of storage, and a water resistant build.
