MeeGO was a Linux-based operating system created by Intel and Nokia and built for 3G mobiles as well as computers and other smart gadgets. Launched in 2010, it was intended to merge Intel's and Nokia's proprietary smartphone OSes, and showed up on just one consumer phone, the Nokia N9 before it was discontinued in September 2011.

Its community developers are said to want to continue MeeGo without the original founders, though it's unclear whether Intel and Nokia will allow use of the brand. Nokia is now focusing on Windows Phone for its smartphone OS and Symbian S40 for its more basic phones.
