Apple iOS 7 Update Downloading At A Snail's Pace - Or Crashing Completely
Apple iOS 7 has been released, but Apple's servers are struggling to cope with demand.
Twitter User JoeJoeTavo shared the picture above documenting his trouble downloading iOS 7
Owners of existing iPhones and iPads scrambled onto iTunes late last night after Apple made iOS 7 available to download. With millions and millions of Apple owners trying to download the update , it should come as no surprise to hear that Apple's servers are failing to cope.
Users have taken to Apple's Twitter in their droves to complain that their iOS 7 download is crashing , or that it's taking an incredible amount of time to download - with the estimated download time being over a day in some cases.
The same thing happens every year , so it's nothing to worry about - but it's disappointing that Apple havn't yet found a solution to the problem. The situation is improving all the time , but we'd advise that users wait until later today before trying to install the update - hard we know, but it's the safest bet.
Apple iOS 7 is available to download over-the-air (WiFI only) or by connecting the device to your computer to use iTunes. Before you update using either method users should backup their data and settings , just in-case anything goes wrong.
What devices can update to iOS 7 ? Owners of the iPhone 5, iPhone 4S, iPhone 4, New iPad, iPad 3, iPad 2 and 5th generation iPod Touch can upgrade to iOS 7.
