Nokia and Harman have announced that they are teaming up to produce a number of audio accessories for Nokia's Lumia smartphones. Harman are a global leader in the audio and markets and will produce a number of wireless audio accessories for Nokia under their JBL brand.
One accessory that's been confirmed is the JBL PlayUp Portable Wireless Speaker (pictured above), which is a unique speaker that radiates sound in all directions. It's been produced for music lovers who value excellent sound quality and crystal clear sound.
The speakers connect to Nokia's Windows Phone 8 smartphones over Bluetooth or NFC , which makes it very easy to setup. The PlayUp Portable also has a 3.5 mm headphone jack so it can connect to many other devices including desktop PC's , MP3 players and more.
The JBL PlayUp Portable Wireless Speaker will be available before the end of 2012 and will cost 149 Euros (£120).
We assume Harman will be producing a number of other accessories which will be appearing to buy in the next couple of months. We hope they produce a docking station and some booming wireless headphones for Lumia smartphones.
In the past wireless audio accessories have often failed to deliver high-audio quality, but they are improving thanks to new Bluetooth standards and the advent of NFC. We're sure with Harman's experience they'll be able to produce some truly stunning accessories.
3G are looking forward to getting our hands on the accessories and will let you know when we get more news on Harman's Lumia accessories.
