ZTE have announced that they will be launching the ZTE Tania ,which runs on Windows Phone Mango, later this year. The Tania is the first Windows smartphone launched by ZTE and they also confirmed they are the only Chinese manufacturer to have access to the operating system.
It would appear that the ZTE Tania is going to be a more affordable Windows Mango smartphone with a mid-range specification. The specification includes a 4.3 inch TFT touch-screen ,running at a resolution of 800*480 pixels , as well as a 1 Ghz processor.
The Tania has 512MB of RAM and comes with 4GB of Flash memory. The camera comes in at 5 mega-pixels and has auto-flash, while the device also supports WiFi and A-GPS.
We do quite like the simple curvy design of the HTC Tania and it does look fetching in White, so it might well get a few takers based on appearance alone.
Running on Windows Mango (7.5) should give the smartphone a nice boost over older similar specced mobiles, but we can't help feeling the ZTE Tania will be a little sluggish with its current specification. However, we'll have to wait till later in the year when the Tania is expected to launch across Europe.
