Twitter SMS Service Now Supports Pictures
![]() |
Twitter users have been able to update their Twitter by sending an SMS with their message to a selected number for quite some time now. However, the service just got even better because it now supports images as well as text.
When composing your message you can add an image as an attachment and Twitter will then include it with your Tweet. It's a neat idea to update your social networking this way, but for those with data included in their package it will just incur unnecessary costs.
The Twitter SMS service is supported by O2, Vodafone and Orange in the UK so those on Three and T-Mobile will have to go online to update their Twitter. You'll only incur a normal text charge, which will off course mean its free if you have a text allowance.
You can obviously also update and keep track of your Twitter with the various applications available across all the mobile operating systems. This is a better way to do it if you have inclusive data but it's good for Twitter to offer this text-based service as an alternative.
