Symbian Belle Beefed Up With Microsoft Goodies

Nokia's Symbian Belle operating system is to be updated with Microsoft Apps and later with productivity tool programs. The update is free and can be used by all compatible Nokia smartphones.
The first part of the Symbian Belle update will be introduced prior to 2012 and will see the following Microsoft Apps arriving : OneNote, PowerPoint Broadcast and Document Connection and Lync 2010 Mobile. These are all collaboration and productivity tools.
During the first 6 months of 2012, Nokia's Symbian Belle will be updated to include : Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint. This will be the first time such applications have been offered beyond the Windows platform.
The Microsoft Apps update will be downloaded by software update over the air or via PC download . The compatible Nokia smartphones are : the Nokia N8, Nokia C7, Nokia C6-01, Nokia E7, Nokia E6, Nokia X7, Nokia 700, Nokia 701, Nokia 600 and Nokia Oro.
Nokia and Microsoft are also working to provide mobile device management of Symbian Belle devices through Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager.
