Nokia have announced that the Nokia N9 is now shipping across the world with Nokia claiming that pre-orders for the device have gone very well.

At a time the Nokia N9 was expected to be the Nokia phone to challenge the iPhone and huge hopes were pinned on the MeeGo operating system which the device runs. However, since the original announcement Nokia have announced they'll be making Windows smartphones which has put the N9 in the shade.

Infact, the Nokia N9 has struggled to find operators to stock the device with the UK lacking a single operator stocking the device. However, that doesn't stop it being available on Pay As You Go or for import for people looking to buy the Nokia N9.

The new MeeGo smartphones comes in either a 16GB or 64GB version and is available in a choice of Black, Cyan or Magenta. The 16GB version will be priced at 480 Euros (£416), while the 64GB version will cost around 540 (£470) Euros.
