Ice Cream Sandwich Coming In November ?
Android Ice Cream Sandwich, Google Android
![]() |
We heard earlier in the year that Google Android Sandwich would be launching in November from Google CEO Eric Schdmit himself.
Now Notion CEO Rohan Shravan has stated that it will launch in late October/Early November. Shravan has a history of getting Android launches spot-on and we'd expect this to be no different. Apparently, early builds of the operating system have already hit selected manufacturers and Notion themselves are expecting to launch tablets running Ice Cream Sandwich in November.
Google Android Sandwich is an important release and differs from previous versions because it will work on tablets and smartphones.
This will enable application developers to produce a version of applications that will be optimized for tablets and smartphones at the same time and the new OS will enable easily communication between devices.
Google will be keen to get Android Sandwich to market, especially when you consider that Microsoft are unveiling Windows 8 which also aims to unify multiple devices.
Once we hear more about Google Android Sandwich, such as what devices it will launch on and the exact dates it will be rolled out we'll let you know.
