Google Nexus S

Google Nexus S owners have been complaining for a long time that the voice-search feature was automatically turning itself on. Google have now released an update, Android 2.3.6, which apparently fixes the issue , as well as a number of other security issues.

However, the feedback from the community is that the update has led to the WiFi and USB tethering breaking so we'd advise Nexus S owners to hold fire on installing the update.  Furthermore, some users are reporting that the voice-search issue hasn't been fixed by the update either and some are even reporting its happening more often.

The situation is hugely embarrassing for Google and its made worse because they are proving both the hardware and software for the Nexus S, so you'd expect these problems to be avoided.

Google have now got their employees investigating the issue and looking to provide a fix, but until then we wouldn't install the new update until Google says all issues have been cleared up.

Once we hear any new updates about the situation you'll the the first to know.
