Three have announced a new MiFi router that takes advantage of HSPA+ speeds.

The new "Winter-Makeover" means your MiFi router can sit alongside your White iPhone or Galaxy S. Even better though is the addition of support for HSPA+ which enables surfing and downloading up to 50 per cent faster than before. In theory the downloads can now run at up to 21.1 MBps , while upload comes in at 5.76Mbps.

The MiFi device has a screen which displays the amount of data used,  speed of the current connection, length of connection and a new SMS center for viewing messages.

MiFi , which stands for Mobile WiFi, enables you to share your mobile broadband with up to 5 devices over WiFi. When it launched it was a pioneering product and still has it's place even though a lot of mobiles support tethering.
