It looks as though the Samsung Galaxy S will be getting a firmware update to Android 2.2 by the end of this month.

A leak has come from Finland via AndroidSpin saying that the Samsung repair centre will receive new Froyo software on 22^ndof September. This indicates that the Android 2.2 updated firmware for the Samsung Galaxy S will be available soon.

So this could mean, if the leak is correct, that Samsung Galaxy S users can get Android 2.2. onto their smartphones very soon maybe as early as 23^rd September.
